I just got back from a trip to Hokkaido. Summer there is absolutely beautiful. There are wildflowers growing everywhere, and I mean everywhere. From cracks in the pavement to hills just covered in them. I’m just so glad that I don’t have allergies or I would have been completely miserable.
I had originally planned to bring my Canon A-1 and some film but because I was trying to pack light, I had to leave it behind. Instead, I took my Sony A7 ii and my Canon FD 50mm macro and 50 mm 1.8 with me. I learned very quickly that it’s really hard to get good macro shots when your subject moves. The wind was definitely not my friend. Through sheer luck and patience, I was able to get a few good shots. It a good thing though, that I had my iPhone with me otherwise I would have missed a lot of good pictures.
